GETTING STARTED WITH YOUR NEW VISIONGATE
FUSION ACCOUNT ... "FIRST THINGS FIRST!"

 

Follow these steps to successfully setup and launch your new web site with VisionGate Fusion software.

STEP 1 Check Your eMail! After you make your initial purchase of our software, VisionGate will send you an eMail with your new account information. This eMail will provide you with the exact information you need to setup your VisionGate Fusion web site account, access your CPanel to setup your eMail accounts, access the web site server via FTP and change your DNS web site servers to point to our hosting servers at VisionGate Fusion. Let's review this eMail together, shall we? WATCH THIS VIDEO
STEP 2 Configure Your eMail Inside The "CPanel" Area! Again, before you start building your VisionGate Fusion web site, let's setup all the incoming eMails you want so you can start receiving eMail while you build your web site with our software. WATCH THIS VIDEO

Getting Started with Fusion - "First Things First!" With all these great new features, where in the world do you start first? VI. Exit & Logout
 
6.1 When you wish to view your work or leave the Admin Panel area, simply click on the Exit link and voila, you're back on the main page of your account.


I. YOUR CONTROL CENTER ...

When you first enter the Admin Panel, you are greeted with this screen. Here, VisionGate will post recent news items along with your Favorites.

1.1 YOUR FAVORITES

You can add "quick-links" to your "favorite" departments within the Control Panel so you can quickly manage or "jump-to" those specific departments you frequent the most to maintain and manage your website account using VisionGate's FUSION software.

ADDING FAVORITES: To add a "favorite" department to the home page of your Control Panel, just click on the "Settings & Configuration" icon located next to a specific department you wish to turn into a "Favorite" and it will change to a "Favorite" icon (as seen below. Instantly, this section will appear in your Favorites' section (as shown above) on the home page of the Control Center.

Click on the icon again to remove it
from the list of Favorites. You can turn
it back into a Favorite at any time.

REMOVING FAVORITES: To remove a department from the Favorite's section, simply click on the "Favorite" icon again, and it will return to its original "Settings & Configuration" icon. You can add and remove departments to your Favorite's listing as often as you like. There is no limit.

2.1 Forums Manager — (Add, edit, delete forum categories and manage online forums.)

Manage Categories Add, edit, and/or delete the categories into which your forums can be grouped. All forums must be assigned to a category, so at least one category must exist before you can add a new forum.

Manage Ranks
Add, edit, and/or delete your ranks. Ranks are assigned to users based on how many new topics they've posted. If you do not define any ranks, the ranking system will not be used.
Manage Word Filter
If you are using the word filter on any of your forums or to filter text appearing on your home page from the forums, this feature allows you to add, edit, and/or remove words from this list.
Manage Options
Use this feature to change various global forum options.

This feature allows you to add a new RSS or ATOM feed to your website.
Manage Feeds
This feature allows you to edit or delete feeds from your website.
Recapture All Feeds
This feature allows you to recapture all of your current RSS/ATOM feeds. This means that the feeds will be downloaded and added to the system. Please be patient as this process can take a while, depending on how many feeds you have.

2.4 RSS/Atom Syndication System — (Manage RSS content.)

Manage RSS Channels
This feature allows you to add, edit, or remove RSS channels from your website. You can have as many as you want by specifying the component and categories/sub-categories.
Rebuild All Channels
Use this feature to rebuild all of your current channels, regardless of when they are set to be rebuilt automatically.

Use this feature to view, edit, delete, and manage tickets.

Website Name and Contact Information
Change your website name and contact information everywhere it appears on your website.
Localization Settings
Change your server time zone and how VisionGate should format numbers and dates.
Security Related Settings
Change security related settings such as requiring email confirmation after registration, whether or not to enforce passwords which are hard to guess, how long to auto-suspend repeat and failed login attempts, etc.
Website Operational Modes
Change how your website operates by placing it in Demonstration Mode or Maintenance Mode. You can also temporarily turn off registration, or limit logins to only those members with Webmaster access.

5.4 Payment Gateway Settings — (Setup a payment system to accept client payments.)

Authorize.Net Integration
This feature allows you to define your Authorize.Net settings for use by all of the various Commerce components. You only need to supply this information if you are using Authorize.Net as your exclusive payment gateway service.
Paypal Integration
This feature allows you to define your Paypal settings for use by all of the various Commerce components. You only need to supply this information if you are using Paypal as your exclusive payment gateway service.
1ShoppingCart Integration
This feature allows you to accept recurring payments for your membership subscription plans through your 1ShoppingCart (or Private Label) shopping cart system. This payment option will only work if you have a merchant account (i.e., Authorize.net, etc.) connected to your 1ShoppingCart (or Private Label) shopping cart system account.
Define Payment Gateway
This feature allows you to define which payment gateway service you would like to use.

5.5 Registration Settings — (Modify registration settings, form fields, error messages, etc.)

General Registration Settings
Modify some basic registration settings.
Manage Registration Form Fields
Manage required, default, and custom form fields, including the order in which they'll appear on the form.
Manage Policy Pages
This option allows you to specify any number of Site Pages which will be displayed to visitors before the registration form. Visitors must agree to each policy page before they're allowed to continue.
Manage Form Error Messages
If a user does not enter the correct information into the registration form (per the rules you have defined for the fields), error messages will be displayed. This function allows you to edit these messages.

5.6 System Text Manager — (Modify your site's text messages both email/web based.)

Manage System Text
Manage the text which is displayed throughout your website, including component names, default emails, etc.
